For the past nine years, since Alex has owned the shop, she has attended the Needlework Exhibition at Woodlawn in Mt. Vernon, Va.  On some of those occasions I would drive her there only to stay in the car and nap or maybe visit my brother in McLean, Va.  This year,  I once again  drove,  but this time I got out of the car and actually went inside to see what was going on.  I was quite impressed!!  The beauty of the masterpieces that you ladies and gentlemen create can at times only be appreciated when viewed in such historic surroundings.

I could not help but notice that there were many individual pieces entered by various shops.  Now I'm no expert,  but in the numerous times that I  have been in Alex's shop, I saw many pieces that either were in the making or finished, and let met say that I think that those pieces could have taken some prizes away from the Needlework Exhibition... hands down!!!
